I stopped into OG restaurant Michael’s Genuine which has been in Miami’s Design District since 2007. No small feat in a city that is obsessed with reinvention. Let’s get to what I came there for: the Falafel Mezze platter entree. It’s perfect to share and great on a hot day to enjoy with a glass of iced tea or bubbly. Roasted eggplant, lentil tabbouleh salad, beets in yogurt, heirloom tomato, marinated olives, crushed cucumber, feta, pickled onion, tahini, and house pita. Incredible! The ingredients are bright, fresh and complementary and the ambiance there is relaxed, yet somehow ‘so Miami.’
