There’s an unwritten rule that you have to try beignets in NOLA, and for this foodie, Loretta’s definitely lives up to the hype. The line can stretch out the door, but these are worth the wait. The dough is fluffy inside, crispy on the outside, and melts in your mouth. The sweet praline beignets are covered in frosting, pralines, and powdered sugar, but aren’t overly sweet. The crab beignets come with a rich creamy sauce and are just as delicious. They were out of the extra savory topping that day, but honestly, I didn’t even notice. You know it’s good when you can’t decide which flavor is more delicious!!!
