Benedict Tartine
How long have I dreamed of dining at this French bistro in Charleston? Way too long. My first impression upon entering the sublime, chic atmosphere? Aaahhh oui! I sat myself at the beautiful bar, was greeted by a charming waiter, and immediately ordered a Loire Valley champagne! Oh yes, the food. Perusing the menu, as I chilled with locals to the Sunday brunch vibe, I happily noted a twist on French classics in the menu. I ordered the Benedict Tartine. Not your usual eggs benedict. Thick crusty bread topped with a classic hollandaise sauce, but not smothered, and excellent black forest ham and yummy fresh eggs with bright yellow, creamy yolks. Thankfully, the bread was thick because I used it to soak up the drippings. Delicieuse! A fantastic brunch, so don’t miss this gem in Charleston.
