Last minute change of plans, storm beckons. Luckily, grabbed a seat at the bar of this charming, coastal tavern and inn in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. While the storm raged, a hip vibe relaxed the friendly guests amidst a packed house. Enjoying the luscious, cold, briny, perfectly-sized east coast oysters, along with a French Muscadet definitely took the edge off. Quickly polishing off the oysters, dinner expectations were high. Decided on the Bar Steak and a great Burgundy to round out the meal. Cooked to perfection and juicy, my steak was crunchy in the right places, with excellent fingerling potatoes and John’s Island carrots and salsa verde. Just delish! My friend ordered the popular Backbar Cheeseburger, made with Joyce Farms Beef, B & B pickles and home made fries that were crispy hot, so tasty. I did manage to get a few. Will be back for sure.
