Mouthwatering food fragrances drifting down the staircase as I walked into the Lowland Tavern, latest creation of James Beard Award winner and Executive Chef Jason Stanhope. A classy, warm, timeless feeling enveloped me as I sat window-view beside a candlelit fireplace. “I wanted this to be a place where everyone feel’s welcome,” says Chef Stanhope, chatting between breaks of oyster shucking. I was craving it, and food orgasm followed as the luscious creamy, cognac, bacon espellette spiced sauce was lapped up with big chucks of lobster throughout.
