I hail from the East Coast and every once in awhile I crave a legit lobster roll. So I hop in my car and head down Highway 1 south of San Francisco to Sam’s Chowder House, where I can choose between the Naked Lobster sandwich (warm and tossed with butter – no mayo – called “Connecticut style,” which happens to be my home state). Or, The Dressed Lobster (lemon aioli), which is another divine tastebud tantalizer. Both are made with fresh real Maine lobster that is flown in daily. The sandwich is a treat on every level, piled high with a generous portion of lobster, a side of slaw and chips. I’m transported to summer on the Cape.
