Seared Foie Gras
The scent of woodsmoke and southern hospitality, old world style, is like a walk back in time as you enter Southbound. A live woodfire grill kitchen sets the scene in the cozy, yet elegant space. Settling into the dining area to watch the chefs in action offers a lovely ambience, with sounds of faint music lulling diners into a relaxed mood. Orders included the pork chop – perfectly cooked with smoky roasted wild mushrooms, followed by a flavorful seared foie gras accompanied by pain perdu – sour apple and truffled caramel sauce. What a perfect flavor combination! The tangy, rich foie gras with bits of sour apple and sweet caramel is sublime. A stunning dessert of chocolate cobbler, served hot for two, along with fantastic service and an excellent wine list closed the deal. Add a new resto to your list!
