This unique, well-loved restaurant celebrates the spirit, sass and determination of Miss Carolina Sullivan. With its rich history, Sullivan’s Island is the perfect backdrop for their Lowcountry “Food Fort.” Totally incognito, in shades and baseball cap, still wet from my beach swim, I stroll in as a non-local, to lunch at this acclaimed resto. Sitting at the bar and starving, I choose the Seared Sausage, because my bar waiter recommended it and he was charming. Fresh, savory seared sausage accompanied by tomatoes, spring onion, chickpeas, salsa verde, and parmesan really hits the spot. Yum and yum. Promoting sustainable practices is a cornerstone of the business ideology at The Obstinate Daughter and it has been awarded a Green Restaurant Certification.
