Country Pate
What can I say about Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island? It is the go-to resto for chefs in and around Charleston and everywhere. Consistency is key and you find it at OD. Jam packed usually, especially for Sunday brunch, where I ventured out on a sloppy, rainy day. Buzzing, noisy and yes, full of hungry patrons. I ordered a fabulously fresh grilled fish skewer with house made sauce, onion, mustard, pickles and relish. Oh my goodness! But wait – the Country Pate is always my favorite. Waiter! An order please with Rose wine, bien sur. The pate is to die for, fresh bread, pickles, perfect in every way. Sit at the counter if you can. Visiting and dining is a must here; your head will be swiveling to see and listen to the locals. Trust me.
