Lowland Tavern is my go to resto in Charleston. I know, I know, how can I make that determination when there are so many fabulous choices?! Still, Lowland serves it all:  excellent service, James Beard award winning cheffery by Jason Stanhope, ambience to die for and genuinely nice house staff. Back again during a recent visit, the charming waitress talked me into the Banofee pudding. Banoffee is a portmanteau combining the words banana and toffee.  Am I glad she did! What a sublime dessert twist on a classic. Not what I expected at all, the dish is topped with a crunchy, toffee-coated banana. Digging into the luscious whipped cream is a food orgasm waiting to happen. The perfect combo of crunchy, sweet, a little salty and oh sooooo good. If you go, order the pudding! You won’t regret it.
