If you’ve stumbled upon the deliciously popular instagram of Sistersnacking, you’re in for a treat. Comprised of Sara, Madison, Carly and Julia, the foodie siblings behind Sistersnacking love nothing more than dining and dishing together. Whether it’s sampling the world’s largest local lobster roll or sharing a pizza with Blake Lively in Times Square, these sisters are having fun, eating great food and establishing their own successful brand in the world of food influencers. Sistersnacking sat down with Beyondish to chat about all sisterhood, success and savory desserts.
Congrats on this! Were you surprised by how your social media audience has grown? What about a few highlight moments?
Thank you! Honestly we’re not surprised by the growth. We’ve been sharing content, restaurant reviews, recommendations and travel food guides for almost ten years now, so it’s been a steady and very intentional climb. What have been some pinch-me moments along the way? Filming content with people like Blake Lively, Joe Jonas and Bobby Flay (to name a few). Getting featured in publications we’ve admired for years like Forbes, Eater and The Infatuation. All surreal moments for us.
I’ve read about how your posts have led to viral success for some restaurants and brands. What does that feel like when you realize the power of a post from @Sistersnacking?
It’s so meaningful to know that we play a big hand in helping small restaurants and brands grow. There’s no better feeling than a restaurant telling us how many people went there because they saw our post recommending it.
What is it like doing this as a family?
Working together as sisters is probably the best part of what we do. Obviously it has its pros and cons because while we know each other so well, we can be brutally honest. But that honesty is what makes our content stronger and it helps that there’s a real sense of trust and shared vision behind everything. We laugh a lot, we argue about small things and we each bring a different energy to the table. At the end of the day, there’s nothing better than building something meaningful with the people who’ve known you your whole life.
How does each sister differ in taste and opinion? Do you think this is what makes the foursome so great?
We all have varied tastes. It definitely helps cater to our audience since taste is so subjective. Our different tastes and personalities are a big part of why our content resonates with so many people.
Any favorite spots or food trends on your radar right now that you can share with us?
We’ve been loving savory desserts. We have a feeling you’ll start to see more of those. Also, Dubai chocolate is everywhere and we can’t get enough of all the adorable candy shops popping up.
Do you have a dream dinner guest that you’d like to all share a meal with? What does that look like? Where are we going? What’s on the menu?
Obviously Guy Fieri. He’s Madison’s biggest inspiration. We’d love to share a meal with Larry David or Taylor Swift. We’re definitely getting some really amazing pasta from an old school red sauce joint and eating family style.
If you could envision the future of Sistersnacking, what does that look like? What are some goals?
We want to keep growing our brand and gaining more followers who trust our recommendations. Also, to keep exploring new places we haven’t been before, so we can continue to be a resource for all things food.
Where did this passion for food and sharing it with each other come from?
It started with Madison’s obsession with Guy Fieri and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. She’d spend her days watching episodes and then making us all go check out the spots featured that were within driving distance. Since then, we’ve all gotten into the habit of always trying to find the next best bite or a secret hidden gem.
