Scanning the bountiful pastry case at San Antonio mainstay Panaderia you are confronted by a bounty of riches. I’d never seen a “velvet concha” in my life, so I took a walk on the wild side. Crack into this beauty and you find a lighter-than-air croissant outer blanket with just a whisper of fluff-like Nutella inside. The red shell is oh-so brittle and paper thin. The lightness of the croissant is almost a miracle. France meets Mexico in this delicate sweet. There are three branches in San Antonio and the breakfast savory menu is tempting, the ambience, A+.
