Boy if ever there were a dish that was preceded by the statement “When in Rome…” So upon the occasion of a grand wedding in The City of Brotherly Love, we found ourselves at the touristy and very enjoyable Reading Market, and the longest food line by far was for Spataro’s. Hence:  My first ever Philly Cheesesteak sandwich! I went for “The Classic.” (How else do you sample a classic?) The meat was tender, well-seasoned and spiked with onions. But for me, the killer app is the melted Cheez Whiz, spread like buttah right onto the foot-long delicious roll. This meal is a slog. And worth every bite. Next time I’m adding on the mushrooms and banana peppers. The Classic+!
