Latin Fried Rice
Just the word “rooftop” sets our summer appetites on fire, so on this pleasant spring night (which in Chicago means sweatshirts and a jacket), we took to the upper deck of this trendy cantina for a sunset bite to eat. The dish in the photo is actually billed as Latin Veggie Fried Rice, but that did not stop me from adding some delicious perfectly moist and stringy pulled pork. The ancho chilies added robust flavor and the grilled veggies (that cauliflower!) added crunch and smoke to this flavorful dish. Side of pintos and a refreshing El Rey Old-fashioned crafted with Mezcal and I’d say get thee to Central Street. The deck is small-ish so a rezzie might be in order.
