Have you been to 11th Street in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of DC? It is just barely off the beaten path and good things are happening there. El Jardin is a new addition along a row of other desto spots and they are serving delicious and authentic Mexican food. Start with a smokey mezcal negroni. You’re welcome. Then: the lamb barbacoa enchiladas! Covered in a tangy sauce, the main event is packed with brisket-y, flavorful lamb and accompanied by excellent black beans and a healthy dollop of guacamole. It’s a friendly room with a nice bar and sports on the TV if you wander in solo. Check out 11th Street and El Jardin in Col Heights. It’s happening.
