How often do you stumble upon a dish that you never have heard of, much less imagined? I stared at this menu item wondering huhhhh? Of course I ordered it! It came out bubbling hot in one of those fun ramekins you get escargot in? The cheese was browned and melted and the hints of broth were steaming from beneath. But in fact the broth (per our fab server DeeDee!) had been reduced to Essence of French Onion Soup. And essential it was, every piping hot bite a gruyere party in your mouth. The Continental is a retro George Jetson dream of a venue. We’re coming back to try the rest.
