Eggs & Gravy
How do you find a good breakfast spot in an unfamiliar town? Ask the bartender the night before! Duhhh. I did and boy was I not disappointed! This narrow, no-frills diner has the requisite lineup of red vinyl stools which offers a bird’s eye view of hot griddle theater. I wanted sausage gravy but was not feeling biscuits, so I put in a special order. The line cook actually sussed me out and asked how I wanted my meal plated. THAT is loving care! The eggs were perfect, and the gravy was not too thick, with just the right amount of sausage bits and a healthy dose of pepper. The coffee was Twin Peaks quality and you should have seen the size of the chocolate chip pancakes. I’ll be back.
