What makes this cheeseburger so darned good? Is it the as-advertised Kobe beef? Just the right amount of special sauce? Cheese melted perfectly? Perhaps the seasoning on their griddle? (I haven’t replaced the grill on my Weber since Obama was in office. It matters!) But no, it was something else. The indescribable CRUNCH of fried onion. Boom, that’s it! Chopped, tasty little flavor bombs of crunchy goodness in every bite. Primo outdoor table in artsy Lincoln Square. Warm spring sunshine. A waiter walked by with a refreshing-looking glass of something red-syrup-infused. “Sir?” I said, pointing. “Strawberry lemonade,” he replied. We are going back.
