I struggle mightily whenever I see the words “gravy” on a menu. The chicken fried steak at Le Peep hits all the right notes and the portion is just generous enough that I leave neither hungry nor wracked with guilt. The gravy is flecked with paprika and of a perfect consistency. The dish has a nice crunchy cutlet consistency, complemented perfectly by each bite of fried egg. Le Peep, which you’ll find at all sorts of interesting locales across the US, has a tasty-looking selection of pancakes, too. Next time I’m bringing the kids so we can get some good sharing going on.
