What can I say after a grueling 7-hour bumper to bumper drive from Charleston that should’ve taken two? Starving and dying to put my feet the in the flowing, cold, Nantahala River, instead I plopped into a prime seat at the iconic River’s End Restaurant. Consistency is key in the food biz and this charming eatery serves it up year after year! I ordered the house salad and charcuterie platter with a house-made loaf of bread, excellent meats, soft cheese spread, various butters and a bbq flavored marmalade. Oh my! Fresh is the word here and quantity was enough for at least four people. Delicious in every way, the service excellent, the wine cool and crisp. The view was sublime, not to miss!
