Burrata, Tomatoes, Peaches
A refreshing change to Atlanta’s wine bar scene arrived recently with Madeira Park. I heard through the grapevine that Tim Willard, a FIG Charleston alum was opening in the ATL. The first thing I noticed was the house white–a favorite of mine, a French Muscadet Sevre et Maine. Paired perfectly with the peaches, tomato and Burrata dish, no disappointment here. Fresh, juicy peaches, tangy ripe tomatoes, crunchy homemade grilled bread with the creamy Burrata–a match made in heaven for this cheese lover. The Burrata is fresh farm made from North Carolina according to Willard, who visited the tables to ensure guests were enjoying the fare. The wine list is sophisticated, leaning on French, with Portugal, Spain, Austria, Italy and California well-represented–including Champagne, Sparkling, Port, Brandy and cocktails. Fun atmosphere and excellent food, a must visit if you are in the area.
