Itâs finally here, Halloween weekend, where memories of eager little goblins scurrying from house to house have been replaced with ghoulishly clad adults frenetically Ubering from party to party.
After a nice pumpkin latte from Just Love Coffee, we plan to kick off Friday the 27th on the patio of the Commons Club at Virgins Hotel Nash for cocktails & nibbles, pumpkin carving, apple dipping and Deep Eddyâs Hard Cider. We will catch an early supper of power greens, plantains and pimento cheese grits at Hi Fi Clydeâs and then scurry home to apply our prosthetics, make up, and threatening appendages and proceed to the first party of this ghoulish season, the Nashville Tequila Festival at ONEC1TY. Next, âLetâs Do The The Time Warp Again!â at Belcourt Theatre, where Rocky Horror still runs at midnight. Then back to our coffins to rest.
Saturday the 28th begins with reapplying all of our prosthetics followed by nothing that I love more than brunching at Franklinâs Farmers Market in full Halloween attire! Oh, the stares. After an eggs benedict and tea itâs on to Pumpkin Fest in downtown Franklin Square where 150 craft vendors, 30 food trucks and a costume contest will entertain us until the evening. Keeping with the Franklin thing, itâs onto The Rutledge for costumes and cocktails until midnight, then perhaps a repeat viewing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Why not?
On Sunday, we will CRAWLLL out of bed late, keep our bath robes on and scurry out just in time to make Nashvilleâs Beatles Brunch at City Winery. With one of our favorite holiday weekends almost at a close we have to sit back, adjust our bathrobes, take a sip of our White Russians and ask âWhat would The Dude do?â Well, The Dude would go to Lebowski Fest at Eastside bowl. Another couple of white Russians and the weekend fades like a vapor. However, it will magically reappear next weekend! Donât waste time planning it, just ask âWhatâs Brad going to do?â You’re welcome.Â
