Truth in advertising. I was so excited to try this dish that I just ordered blindly and expected a bowl of hearty stew. Wow what a fabulous surprise to be oh-so wrong. The “gumbo” was actually a rice bowl (fluffy, delicious turmeric rice!)  chockfull of meaty chunks of chicken, plantain and shrimp, topped with an indescribably delicious sauce. Flavorful, memorable and just filling enough to constitute the perfect lunch. The Immigrant Food menu is a culinary atlas of the entire planet. I am going back again and again!
