While many consider New Orleans to be the food capitol of the US (if not the world), there are other places in LA that are worth a visit, especially for food fans. Instead of arguing with the throngs in N’awlins (and paying for a longer sign), Shreveport’s savvy Sam Fertitta tweaked the original bread, cold cuts and cheese recipe, as well as the name of the famed Louisiana Muffuletta and came up with the Muffy™. Using his own secret family olive mix recipe, Fertitta attracted sandwich savorers from far and wide and his children and grandchildren have been carrying on the tradition for nearly 100 years. Even so, it is the original Muffy™ that keeps people coming back for more.
