Tokyo-style kaiseki (multicourse meal) is a must-try culinary experience. It’s actually considered the highest level of quality Japanese meals and I was excited to sample it at Pure Sushi by Matsuoka. The chef is a visionary in San Diego Japanese food and he continues to reinvent, challenge us and share his talent and vision. At Pure Sushi, seasonal fresh fish is flown in every morning. For this meal, we got to enjoy Bluefin tuna nigiri, Hirami nigiri, shrimp sushi, and Toro pure sushi.
