Seafood Omelette
I talk about how NY has shaped me—a lot. But every time summer rolls around, I’m reminded of my summers down south, packed into my Nana’s house with my family, the neighborhood kids coming to swim, and, most importantly, the food. All year I would wait for our morning walks so I could get biscuits. I rarely eat a full breakfast, but before my childhood best friend flew home, we grabbed brunch. I love a good omelette, and this one at Gocha’s sets the bar high. It’s filled with shrimp, lump crab, cherry tomatoes and green onions, topped with salsa, and garnished with parsley. I asked for Parmesan instead of Swiss. My sides included creamy grits and a biscuit. Each bite reminded me of my upbringing. My mom and aunts were always throwing it down in the kitchen. Eating at Gocha’s feels like a home away from home.
