Sausage Pizza
Who comes from Brooklyn to California and orders pizza? Mea culpa. They’re probably going to take my Metrocard away, but man this pie was good! It’s the NY crust that’s launched a thousand food wars and this crust stuck it right. Light, crispy, perfectly charred and it left just the tiniest sheen of delicious fruity olive oil on the plate. The blistered tomatoes popped with flavor. The home-made sausage was a meal unto itself. And the most non-NY part – the pepperoncinis? The flavor just blazed through every bite. I won’t bill this as a NY pizza. But it was a damn fine pie.
