On a hectic workday in Washington DC, nothing beats my go-to lunch treat: a Salami and Fig sandwich with creamy goat cheese from The Best Sandwich Place (yes, that’s actually the name)! It’s the perfect balance of sweet, savory and tangy. Genoa salami, Capicola ham, house-made fig jam, peppery arugula, and creamy goat cheese –all stacked between slices of fresh, locally baked toasted sourdough. Sophisticated comfort food. This place is always buzzing with energy, packed with fellow professionals chasing the same midday magic! A bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the flavor and quality. Try another of my favorites, the Italian sub, their viral chicken caesar wrap, or craft your own salad. Add $1 for chips and a soda—because some days, you deserve the works!
