The French Pantry is a long-time Jacksonville favorite, launched in 1995 by Tim and Barbara Felver, originally of Wolfgang Puck fame in LA. Here in FLA, I went full-in on lunch. The frites are excellent and from scratch, not frozen. The BLT bread was to die for–soft, fresh and taking in all the big fat bacon and tomato juices. Yum! The salade lyonnaise? Magnifique! The dressing was perfectly seasoned, the lardon croutons a chef’s kiss, and the crispy, fresh frisee? Aaaahhh! Excellent wine list, great service and charming atmosphere–a relaxing lunch before I hit the road. If you are in the area, do dine!
