As a San Diego native and connoisseur of Mexican food, I went out on a limb and tried out Las Cambritas in Cambria, California. Cambria is a charming seaside village in San Luis Obispo County, north of Santa Barbara. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary with a trip to the beautiful California Central Coast, reliving much of our honeymoon trip 20 years prior. The restaurant itself is so nicely decorated and spacious. The salsa here was outstanding. Tasted fresh and house made with quite the kick. I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos and they were excellent! Just as good as SoCal. They were properly griddled in fresh corn tortillas and stacked with a generous amount of flavorful, tender beef birria and melty asadero cheese, plus onions and cilantro. The side consommé for dipping was rich and delicious. It was all so beautifully plated.
