If you think Salt Lake City is not the place you’d find a great bar, you’d be mistaken. This spot is so popular that I had to wait for a barstool. (Their wall of whiskies is 7 racks high and accessible by ladder!) I do not know what the name of this drink means, but here’s what’s in it: High West bourbon, Courvoisier VS, Wasatch cherry liqueur, and Punt e Mes vermouth. Talk about fire on the mountain! Sip slowly–your couped bevvy is sweet, smoky and strong. These barkeeps are pros; I loved watching them work. The bustling joint also has a a full trendy menu. I’ve been anointed to return.
