If it looks like a duck…Sorry. Couldn’t help myself. This sliced magret de canard in a black currant sauce might well be the best duck I have ever had in my life! Cooked to a rosy perfection, it was a tender combination of rich and piquant. The accompanying faro and veggies were exactly right, though it did not stop me from stealing my dinner-mate’s creamy mashed potato puree to swab through the currant sauce. The Georgetown country French cafe was ambient with a fireplace, refined waiters and the buzz of urgent conversation, a DC commodity for sure.
