Heart of Palm Calamari? Huhhh? Yes, I had to ask the friendly and knowledgeable barkeep if this dish had any relationship to the sea, and yes, I’m sure glad I did. Lightly battered cubes of artichoke heart fills in for the chewy cephalopod and it is prepared beautifully – enhanced by masa pepita, pepperoncini, vegan parmesan and accompanied by a green chili aguave aoili and chipotle tomato sauce. The dish is as light as a feather and happens to also be Vegan and gluten-free. If the fab Paseo arts district vibe isn’t already cool enough for you at Frida, take a peek next door at their sister speakeasy, The Daley. OKC is definitely happening.
