Hardshell crabs smothered in Old Bay are a must when in B-more. It’s part of the experience. And Captain James Landing, on the waterfront in between the Canton and Fells Point neighborhoods, is the quintessential go-to. No paper plates here – just brown paper spread out on picnic tables with crabs heaped on top. Corn too. Go for broke (as I often do) and get the fries as well (the better to dunk in your Old Bay, my dear!). The crab house on the water is only open spring and summer, but crabs are available year-round at the ship-shaped restaurant across the street (it’s the same owners), complete with all-you-can-eat deals. Captain O’Captain: You definitely have made this “sailor” happy.
