Since 1998, BBQ lovers across San Diego County have turned to restaurateur Phil Pace to satisfy a singular craving: mesquite grilled baby back and beef ribs, chicken and sandwiches. I’ve been to most of Phil’s four locations around San Diego and Rancho Bernardo is definitely my favorite! I love the full service bar area and monthly rotations of “beer of the month.” I’ve ordered many things off their vast menu of BBQ goodness. Consistently excellent though are these baby back ribs. I always order sauce on the side, or “SOS” as the regulars say. I never visit without requesting a side of their exquisite mac salad. Among the best I’ve put in my mouth! I also really enjoy the “El Toro” Sandwich. A mound of deli-thin, sliced tri-tip. Highly recommended when visiting San Diego.
