A packed weekend of Savannah college grads and the women’s college lacrosse national championship provided us with lots of crowds. So we were happy and relieved to find a table for Sunday brunch at the Mansion on Forsyth Park restaurant. Southern coastal cuisine is the theme and the new executive chef, Daniel Hergert certainly delivered! We ordered salads, such as the Gem Lettuce with Sourdough Croutons and the Deviled Egg Mousse with crudite. Served in a tiny mason jar surrounded by fresh vegetables to dip into the mousse, a presentation A+! The overwhelming freshness of everything we ate was such a delight. Tasty and succulent, the freshly caught Georgia shrimp (pictured), layered on a bed of pickles and lemons, was a simple masterpiece in taste and color. Don’t forget to peruse the art gallery located throughout the restaurant and hotel. It adds immensely to the ambience in sophisticated way.
