Tongue-tied by the illustrious menu, I asked Jeff behind the counter which way to go. He led me to the carne adovada – pork loin simmered in red chili and topped with hatch green chili, New Mexico’s answer to everything wonderful. The meat was smothered in salsa fresca with the beans and cheese hiding beneath the potatoes and sauce. Every bite was absolute bliss! While savoring my meal at the cozy countertop, I watched a woman in the kitchen rolling the fresh tortillas, which by the way come painted with salty butter. To die for. Afterwards, wander the charming pharmacy. This place is a find through and through.
