A few years ago we backpacked Malaysia for a couple of months and ate street food every single day. It tastes like Hawkers has abducted one of those guys, because everything about this dish was spot on accurate. The noodles were saturated with soy pork sauce without dripping. Impressive. The shrimp were precisely wok fired at the perfect temperature, because they were still tender and flavorful, as was the chicken. The killer part of this dish, however, has to be the Lap Cheong, a Cantonese sausage flavored with “southern spices” that permeated the entire dish with a unique complexity that made my taste buds dance and question. Its flavor was so authentic, I could have sworn that I saw the Petronas towers of KL in the distance. Fun place!
