Avocado Rice with Chicken
At Historic Edgefield in Nashville there is a Mediterranean restaurant called Butcher & Bee, a wholesome location with a lot of wooden touches and greenery. It is an interesting and quite cozy spot. The menu is full of variety, mixing flavors from Israeli, Arab and Jewish cultures; it most certainly matches the vibe of the place. It was so hard to set my heart on an option, but after a long time pondering and a few appetizers, I finally decided on the avocado crispy rice with extra avocado and shawarma chicken. Expectations were high and I can happily say they were met. The flavor combinations between the sweetness of the avocado balanced perfectly with the spiciness of the Serrano chiles, tenderness of the chicken and the crunchiness of the peanuts. All the different kitchen influences, flavors and textures married with excellence inside a warm bowl of food.
