Lord have mercy! Third Base has THE BEST pizza in all of Woodbridge and quite possibly the entire DC area. Nestled on a prominent corner in Historic Occoquan, Third Base is hailed as a town favorite. The menu boasts some clever pizza creations and custards. In the mood for seafood, I was torn between the Shrimp Louie and the Occoquan Clam. I went with the clam; it has a clam Alfredo base topped with caramelized onion, New England clams, mozzarella, fresh parsley, and you guessed it – bacon! It’s drizzled with more Alfredo and I asked for garlic oil to kick things up a bit. The cheese pull and flavor from this tasty little flatbread situation blew me away! I’ve learned that the BEST spots are local — the hometown, quaint spots always deliver BIG results on the foodie Richter scale. Third Base is no exception.
