Taverna Oceana is a trendy, popular resto in the preppy San Marco neighborhood of Jacksonville. Dehydrated and starving, I landed as it grew colder and windy, ready for a delicious meal. Seafood, oysters, fresh Florida fish, a Friday vibe – what else could you ask for? A martini of course and a good friend. First course: a dozen oysters, briny, clean, absolutely delish, and unique sauces to pair with. Indecisive, but hungry, you can’t go wrong with steak frites! Medium rare, perfectly sliced, tender, tasty beef with a mountain of frites, crunchy, hot and yummy. Perfect meal, and the cookie plate for dessert exceeded expectations with newly baked varieties. Great service, decent wine list and excellent food.
