There’s something simple and nostalgic about sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel and Bethesda Bagels has perfected the art. Originally inspired by the “ awful” bagel scene of the DMV in the 80s, Bethesda Bagels has grown to multiple locations and menu offerings. This visit we opted for a sun-dried tomato bagel, one of their over 20+ choices! We ordered on a whim, determined to slowly pair a sausage, egg and cheese topping on all of their bagels (eventually). The layers of fluffy egg paired well with the slightly acidic tomato, and was a welcome change from the usual savory combination. While it didn’t dethrone our favorite (sausage, egg and cheese on the almighty everything bagel), it was a combination we had never tried before.
